HEALTH SYSTEM

The nefarious chilean health system, well, it can not be called better than that. I have witnessed situations that leave much to be desired, people waiting for an urgent operation, for an hour at the doctor, for some tests, for expensive medicines or, directly, for a simple stretcher in the emergency room. Today, during the pandemic, things haven't improved, the need for new equipment, the chaos, the fear and the knowledge that little by little the medicine is no longer helping are causing an outbreak of a complete health crisis at national level.

They're afraid, we're afraid, and there is no solution but to wait, always wait. Diseases where the cost of treatment or medicines cost more than a mansion, a Ferrari or anything you can imagine. Here in Chile we're not only killed by disease, we're killed by poverty. The existing gap between public and private health care is notorious, and it never seems to disappear, but the fact that private health care also has its shortcomings seems to be a bad joke for all chileans who only want to live the right life.

Years of work, expensive insurance payments and monthly tax payments for what?, so that our life expectancy depends on an incurable disease because we don't have money or because of the precarious health system we have? Disgusting.

Families having to move from region to region within the country or, directly, having to desperately look for a solution somewhere else in the world. Is that right? Not for me.

Without further ado, I think my opinion is quite clear. Improve our health systems in general, equalize medical capacities throughout the country, stop killing us for not having a check with which to ensure a payment after an emergency and pass the cancer law.
